Richard Winters Dies at 92; Led ‘Band of Brothers’


New York times is reporting that Major Richard Winters has passed away. He was 92. Major Winters lead the Easy Company 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division unit through the beaches of Normandy to the Hitler's Mountain retreat. The story of him and his unit made it to the Mini-series that Tom Hanks directed called "Band of Brothers". Read the full story below

69 years since Pearl Harbor attack

Veterans Day 2010

Make sure to thank a veteran for their service today. I always think of a quote my Grandpa had a shirt a while back. Not sure where it came from:

"If you can read this, thank a teacher. If you can read this in English, thank a veteran."

Ilyff Schalliol

Information has come to us that WWII Veteran member Will Schalliol's wife, Ilyff Schalliol passed away earlier this month. The funeral was 10-9-2010. Our thoughts and prayers are with Will and the entire Schalliol family at this time."

Vandalism of USS Emmons Sparks Outrage


The USS Emmons served the United States proudly through World War II, right up until April 6, 1945, when it was attacked by five kamikaze pilots off the coast of Okinawa.
